Desiree Adams, MSW, LSW, LCSW earned my Bachelor of Science in Family & Child Studies with an emphasis in Gerontology from Northern Illinois University (NIU) and her Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC).
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience, I bring a compassionate, warm, and engaging presence to the therapeutic relationship. I value creating genuine connections with individuals from all walks of life and understands how life transitions, family dynamics, chronic illness adjustment, workplace stress, and trauma can impact emotional well-being.
Having personally navigate my own seasons of growth and transformation, I bring a deeper level of empathy, understanding, and compassion into the therapeutic space while honoring that each person’s journey is uniquely their own. As a mother of two amazing children, I understand the complexities of balancing motherhood, personal identity, relationships, and life’s unexpected challenges.
My own journey through postpartum depression, rebuilding my support system, and rediscovering myself has strengthened my passion for supporting others through difficult transitions.
I will provide a safe, personalized, and affirming environment where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. I help individuals navigate the complex effects of trauma, process life experiences, rebuild trust, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their inner resilience. Drawing from both clinical experience and personal growth, I meet each client with patience, respect, and genuine understanding.
My goal is to walk alongside you as you work toward healing, self-discovery, and creating healthier relationships with yourself and others.
